Natalia Varenik - Dialogue between Cultures in the Dialogue of Civilizations Context

 

Our colleague, Dr. Suheil Farah (Beirut, Lebanon), visited Ukraine 20th September 2013. Dr. Farah is a member of the Presidium of the World Forum of Spiritual Culture, founder and chairman of the Lebanese-Russian House, Ph.D., professor, member of the Russian Academy of Education, member of the Russian Academy of forecasting, Academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences and Vice-President of the International Institute of Sorokin and N. Kondratieff.

 Dr. Farah met with the public in the Kiev region. This meeting was organized by the Ukrainian branch of the World Forum of Spiritual Culture (Director - Member of the WFSC Presidium, writer and journalist Natalya Varenik).
The renowned scientist and public figure gave a lecture entitled "Dialogue of Civilizations" to 120 Masters Candidates of the Philosophy Department of the Ukraine State Tax Service National University.

This level IV accredited university prepares bachelors, specialists, and masters graduates. The structure of the Ukraine State Tax Service National University consists of the Kiev Finance and Economics College, the Institute for Postgraduate Education, and the Research Institute for Law and Finance Research Center. The university holds a large potential of highly qualified teachers - 5 academicians, 65 doctors, 250 PhDs, 63 professors, and 176 associate professors.

The Head of the Philosophy and Political Science Department, Professor Lyubov Vorobyova, and her staff welcomed the distinguished guest from Lebanon.
In the modern and beautiful conference hall were gathered scientists, educators, students, journalists...
Present at the guest’s welcoming were leaders of the Lebanese and Syrian communities of Kiev - Marun Merhej, Gassan El-Goseyni, D. Imad Zaza,  PhD, associate professor of the Ukraine State Tax Service National University Alexander Redditch, chairman of the Ukrainian branch of the World Forum of Spiritual Culture Natalia Varenik, and editor of "Pulsar" Julia Berezhko-Kaminska.
Suhail Farah was awarded an honorary diploma for high creative achievements.

 

 After the lecture, a meeting was organized with the teachers of the Philosophy Department. Suhail Farah discussed his research projects and plans. Dr. Farah is the author of 16 books. Among his awards: the State Pushkin Prize, the medal of St. Macarius, the Golden Order “Alfahr”, the medal of the "Russian World" for his contribution to the preservation and promotion of the Russian language, and the Gold Medal of P. Sorokin for the development of the theory and dialogue of civilizations. He is also a member of the Imperial Orthodox Palestine Society.

 

 His homeland – Lebanon – was also discussed which is located in the immediate vicinity of the currently "hottest spot" of the planet – Syria.
Moreover, the discussion involved joint projects which could include Ukrainian scholars and scientists of the World Forum of Spiritual Culture. One of these potential projects would be the possibility of holding a conference in Ukraine in the spring of next year.

The second interesting meeting with Suhail Farah was a meeting with the creative intelligentsia, academics, and the regional representatives of the media.
It was held in the conference hall of the business center of the Ukrainian "Peredelkino" - Irpin. The initiators of the meeting were the editors of "Pulsar".
"Suhail Farah - the path to dialogue" film was broadcasted on a giant screen. This film focuses on the scientific achievements of the Lebanese scholar.

 Dialogue with Suhail Farah was held by Academician of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Biological Sciences (Russian Federation) and Grand Doctor of Philosophy (Kingdom of Belgium), writer Natalia Okolitenko, Ukrainian poet and novelist, author of the Nile Vysotsky, and other members of the public in the region - historians, media representatives, and youth program participants from different countries.

 Suhail Farah gave an interview to the Ukrainian press.
During his stay in Ukraine, the Lebanese scholar visited the Orthodox holy place - Pecherskaya Lavra, the Kiev sanctuaries, and the Kiev region.
These meetings facilitate the dialogue between our cultures and peoples.
